Description

Farmer Jones represent the breakdown of ability in the ruling class. The person he represent from the Russian Revolution is Nicholas II, the last Russian czar. He was a terrible leader/owner, and this is the reason his people/animals rebelled.

Napoleon can build apperatus to controll others, use assisstants that are more clever than him but he knows their weaknesses, great force of will/personality, and has total lack of scruples. He also has some uncontrolled personal habbits, and takes over the farm about a year after the rebellion. He represents Stalin from the Russian Revolution.

Snowball is more creative, clever, and inventive than Napoleon, but he still loses. He loses because he lacks staying in power when the time comes. Who he represent from the Russian revolution is Trotsky, the one who took over after Nicholas II.

Old Major is a prophet, idealist, law giver, and spellbinding orator. It was his idea to rebell, but he was not alive to see it. He represent all great thinkers, but the actual person is Karl Marx.

Squealer is pretty much Napoleon's messenger, or mouthpeice if you will. He does much of Napoleon's dirty work, and exercises "reality controll".

There are nine dogs that Napoleon had taken in directly after they were born to place where only he knew. He raised them to become his own bodygaurds. They walk around with Squealer sometimes so, when Squealer is trying to explain something for Napoleon, non of the animals will argue. The dogs represent the secret police.

Mr. Whymper represents the middle man, and he makes sure the animals do what they said they would (like build a windmill) and have what they need.

Boxer represents the unthinking masses. What that means is he's smart, but it dosn't show up very well. He is loyal to Napolleon, but he is more loyal to the farm.

Pilkington is just a farmer from Foxwood, a different farm.

Frederick is a farmer from Pinchfeild, and is in alliance with Napoleon.

Moses is Farmer Jones' special pet. Sometimes he's a spy, and is owned by Farmer Jones as a pet than a farm animal.

Benjamin is cynic, and he dosn't think anything is going to change, with the rebellion, or with Snowball, or even Napoleon in charge.

Clover is a mare,a dn just like boxer, she just goes with the flow.
